9/11 Lesson and Project

Since freshmen did not witness the events of 9/11/01, we will watch videos and discuss the events in class.  We will look at different memorials created due to the events on this historical day in America. Students will then be given a Personal Memorial Project to complete with three components: written, physical, brief oral presentation.
Specifics of the project and how it will be scored.

Fiction vs. Non-Fiction

The Short Story

Types of Non-Fiction

"Night"-Unit 4

Packets for "Night"

The novel we will be reading this year is Night.  It is the mandatory Holocaust reading for this course.  I have divided the novel into sections and created a packet to be completed for each section.  The packets can be found below.

Unit 5 Poetry

"Romeo and Juliet"

This course combines the study and analysis of literature through reading, class discussion, objective tests and quizzes, individual and group projects, and essays.  We will be studying various genres of literature including the short story, poetry, drama, and the novel.  Keystone skills in reading comprehension and vocabulary, along with grammar, writing, and revision will be emphasized.  Students will participate in class discussions, individual and group projects, presentations, and learn to better use technology.
