Classroom Schedule:
This year, I will be following a 6 day schedule for lesson planning. All new stories, vocabulary and skills will be introduced and taught on days 1-4. Reading and Spelling tests will be given on day 5. Day 6 will be used for weekly progress monitoring and supplemental reading and math instruction. This will also be a day for students who have been absent during the week to make up any missed classwork.
Homework Binders:
In order to help your child learn to organize his/her work and study time, he/she has been given a binder and student planner. This binder is to travel between school and home each day. It will list nightly assignments, upcoming tests and all communication between school and home. Your child is responsible for showing you their binder nightly. I am asking that you sign the planner once all assignments are complete. Not only will this ensure that homework is being done but it will also guarantee that you are receiving important information that pertains specifically to you child.
Progress Reports:
Along with the regular 9 week report cards, you will be receiving additional progress reports from me. The reports will be specific to you child's IEP goals. You will be informed of which of their goals have been addressed and how they are progressing in each area.
