Any and all events and/or procedures are subject to be changed, cancelled, or regulated as a result of COVID safety protocols.

Parade Date: SEPTEMBER 30, 2021

Event Information/Guidelines:

  • Starting Time – The parade will begin at 6:30 p.m.  Register online via the Hopewell High School webpage.

  • The parade will travel from the junior high to the high school.  It starts by going down Laird Avenue, turning right onto Maratta Road, and then left onto Longvue Avenue.  The parade will end at the lower lot of the high school (on Longvue).

  • YOUR GROUP MUST BE IN LINE and ready to march NO LATER THAN 6:20 P.M.  If your vehicle or group members are not on time, you may not be allowed to participate in this event.  Please note that traffic is often a problem, so plan accordingly.

  • Students/group members may be dropped off and/or meet at the MARGARET ROSS PARKING LOT and then walk together to the junior high.  PARTICIPANTS MUST ARRIVE AT THE JUNIOR HIGH BETWEEN 6:00-6:15 P.M.  ALL PARTICIPANTS SHOULD BE LINED UP NO LATER THAN 6:20 P.M.!

  • The parade will line up on the roadway around the junior high school.  As you pull around the junior high to the divided section of the road, ALL HIGH SCHOOL GROUPS WILL GO TO THE RIGHT; ALL OTHER GROUPS WILL GO TO THE LEFT.

  • No traffic, except parade vehicles, will be allowed to drive around the junior high after the road is closed off by event staff.  As a result, there will be no parking at the junior high.

  • All group members should be dressed APPROPRIATELY.  NO EXCEPTIONS.

  • Any group with students under the age of 18 must be supervised at all times!  We STRONGLY SUGGEST one adult for every 10 minors.  No horseplay or inappropriate behavior will be tolerated by any group.  The event coordinators reserve the right to eject anyone from the event if this behavior is demonstrated.  The Hopewell Township Police Department will be on hand to deal with any violators.  This is a community event, representing Hopewell School District and Community; therefore, please be respectful and follow directions to avoid confusion or injury.

  • At the end of the parade, students may be picked up at the parking lot outside of the high school football field.  GROUP SPONSORS MUST STAY AND CONTINUE TO SUPERVISE ALL MINORS UNTIL THEY ARE PICKED UP BY PARENTS/GUARDIANS.  THIS INCLUDES BEFORE, DURING, AND AFTER THE EVENT.

  • Participants must FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS OF ALL HOMECOMING EVENT STAFF.

  • Parade vehicles should not be hazardous to any participants who will be riding in them.  If the coordinators deem a parade vehicle/float unsafe, the group will be asked to walk.

  • Groups that don’t need to enter the high school loop at the end of the parade can go past the student lot and make a left, then drive back up Euclid.
