Hopewell Memorial Junior High will be using the OLWEUS Bullying Prevention Program again this year. This research-based program has been shown to greatly reduce bullying in schools. It also helps to make school a safer, more positive place where students can learn. OBPP is not a curriculum, but a program that deals with bullying at the school-wide, classroom, individual, and community levels.

Although this program takes place at school, we need your help, too.  You can talk about bullying and our school’s anti-bullying rules at home with your child. We want to work with you to prevent and stop bullying from happening in our school.

To learn more about our program, please contact the Junior High Office at (724) 375-6691.

To find out more information about OLWEUS, please visit Violence Prevention Network.

How to Stop Bullying
  • Be ASSERTIVE and confident.
  • Make eye contact.
  • Tell the bully to STOP.
  • Have confidence in who you are.
  • Make GOOD FRIENDS and stick together.
  • Talk to someone you can trust.

Our School's Anti-Bullying Rules

We will not bully others.

We will try to help students who are bullied.

We will try to include students who are left out.

If we know that somebody is being bullied, we will tell and adult at school and an adult at home.
