About The Teacher

I am a graduate of Westminster College with a BA in Elementary Education.  I live in Moon Township with my husband Robert and beautiful 13 year old daughter, Holly, who is in Eighth Grade this year.  During my teaching career, I have taught Grades K, 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5.  This is my 15th year in the Hopewell Area School District, and my 10th year in 4th grade.  My husband and I are die-hard Pittsburgh Penguins fans and enjoy taking in the games as season ticket holders!  In my spare time, I love to read, travel, attend concerts and theatre, and spend time with family and friends.  Let's Go Pens!

Mission For The Class

We will verbally and visibly show respect to all.  We will be responsible and take responsibility for our actions and words.  We will be safe in all we do. 

My goal is to help my students to:

* become active learners

* be more responsible

* practice effective communication skills

* develop high self-esteem

My mantra is "Prepare the child for the path, not the path for the child." This is an anonymous quote that I discovered many years ago.  I try to follow this both at school and at home.  The more we, as parents and educators, do to protect children from failure, the less we do to ensure their growth as responsible and successful people.

I have high expectations for my students, my parents, and myself.  Together we will experience an exciting and fulfilling journey.  I look forward to working with you this year!
