USA vs. Ireland - Caleb Parrish

Caleb Parrish, a Hopewell senior and one of the top welterweight boxers in Pittsburgh, will be competing against one of Ireland's best, Eddie Mills, a 17 year old, in tonight's Donnybrook Ambassador's Cup.  The competition will be aired tonight on PCNC live at 7:00 pm The winning team will receive a $8000 cup which will be showcased in the Grand Hall at the Priory.  This is the first event of its kind in Pittsburgh and plans are already in place to continue the tradition each year.

Caleb Parrish began boxing 11 years ago when his father wanted him to learn some self defense.  Caleb came to enjoy the sport so much that when the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette recently asked him why he boxes he responded by saying, "Why does the wind blow?".

In addition to boxing, Caleb takes is academics very seriously.  He has pushed himself through three different math classes this year to qualify for the Coast Guard Academy where he plans on attending after graduation.
