Mr. Allison - Elected as NASSP President

Congratulations to Mr. Allison for being elected President of the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP). The NASSP is an organization for middle level and high school principals, assistant principals, and aspiring school leaders from across the United States and more than 45 countries around the world. The mission of the NASSP is to promote excellence in school leadership by providing its members with the resources, tools, and materials they need to serve as visionary school leaders. It also administers several student leadership programs including the National Honor Society and the National Association of Student Councils.

Mr. Allison has been a member of the NASSP for 15 years and in 2007-08 served as the President of the Pennsylvania Association of Elementary & Secondary School Principals (PAESSP), which is the state affiliate of the NASSP. Four years ago, Mr. Allison was elected to the NASSP’s Board of Directors, and has performed a number of different leadership activities. In 2013, when Mr. Allison decided to run for president, he began his efforts to promote what he has done for the association, demonstrating why he should be elected to lead the organization. He presented his qualifications to approximately 300 members at their national conference and was elected president.

On July 1, 2014 Mr. Allison will become the President-Elect, supporting the President by, helping to communicate between the nation and state affiliates, working in Washington D.C. on issues supporting public education, and filling in to assist with any work need by the President. On July 1, 2015 he will become president and will be the public voice to the association, representing principals from all across the United States.
