Big River is the lavish musical based on Mark Twain's classic 1884 novel, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, and is the next fully produced, full-cast musical to grace The Strand's intimate space. The show won SEVEN Tony Awards including Best Musical and Best Original Score. It features music in the bluegrass and country styles in keeping with the setting of the novel. The original Broadway production ran for more than 1,000 performances and stands out as one of the few highly successful American musicals to emerge during the mid-1980s.
