Hopewell Elementary Student Supplies Pickups/ Device Drop offs

Dear Parents/Guardians:

We hope this letter finds you and your families doing well. As 2019-2020 school year comes to a close, we would like to inform you of the procedures we have put in place to return to you any personal items your child left in their desks or cubbies and also for you to return any items belonging to the school that your child may have taken home with them.

On Thursday, June 4 and Friday, June 5, 2020, we will have two pick-up/drop-off location assignments: Location A will be in the bus loop by the main office, and Location B will be in the back parking lot by the cafeteria. Please see the schedule below for your designated pick-up/drop-off time and location.

Date: Thursday, June 4

  • Location A: Bus Ramp by Main Office

    • Kindergarten: 8:45 AM to 10 AM

    • Grade 1: 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM

  • Location B: Parking Lot by Lower Doors

    • Grade 2: 8:45 AM to 10 AM

    • Grade 3: 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM

Date: Friday, June 5

  • Location A: Bus Ramp by Main Office

    • Grade 4: 8:45 AM to 10:00 AM

    • Autistic Support: 10:15 AM to 12 PM

Prior to arriving at school, we are asking that all parents/guardians please do the following:

  • Make a sign with your child’s first and last name, grade and homeroom teacher and place it in your vehicle’s windshield so our staff can see who is arriving.

  • Gather and bag ALL items your child needs to return to school (textbooks, iPads, charging cords, etc.). Please label the bag with your child’s name, teacher’s name, and contents of the bag.

  • If possible, please place the bag in the trunk of your vehicle so that we may all maintain social distancing during this process to keep our families and staff safe.

Upon arrival at school, we ask that parents please do the following:

  • Have your family’s name sign in your vehicle window.

  • Please follow signage to your designated pick up/drop off location and follow traffic cones for flow of traffic as we will do a drive thru style pick up.

  • Please have a mask should you need to interact with a staff member.

As your vehicle approaches, our staff will gather your child’s bagged belongings and bring them over to your vehicle. If you can, pop your trunk open so that our staff can put your child’s belongings in and retrieve any items your child is returning to school. Again, this procedure allows us to maintain social distancing while keeping our families and staff safe. If your child has any medication remaining at the school that has not been picked up already, it will be returned to you at this time.

For families with more than one student, please email Ms. Hill at [email protected] with your children’s names, teachers’ names, and which of our designated times you would like to arrive to pick up/drop off all items at one time. If you are unsure if your child left items, please contact your child’s classroom teacher.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation during this unprecedented time. If you have any questions or concerns please email either Mrs. Kane at [email protected] or Dr. Kartychak at [email protected]

Respectfully,

Mrs. Korri M. Kane Dr. Robert Kartychak
