ALICE Drill

Attention all students and staff: from today until the end of the month, Hopewell High School will be in an ALICE drill window, which means that at any time an active shooter drill can take place. When a drill is going to take place, one of the principals will come on over the PA and announce that this is a drill and only a drill. From there an air horn will be sounded. The sound of the air horn is meant to simulate gunfire. When the air horn is fired, students and staff will react accordingly based on ALICE training. Anyone evacuating the building is reminded not to leave the high school, but to go outside and stay on the high school campus as in a fire drill. Students are reminded that when locking down to shelter in place, not to damage property. Again, this drill can happen at any time. See Mr. Rowe or Mr. Allison with questions.
