Biographical Information:

Michelle Miller has served over 20 years in public education was appointed as Superintendent of the Hopewell Area School District in July 2016. Dr. Miller shares that “I feel truly honored to be part of the Hopewell Area School District and feel privileged work with the amazing students, teachers, administration, school board, and staff.”

Dr. Miller, a lifelong educator, attended Chatham College, Duquesne University and the University of Pittsburgh to prepare her for a career in education.   She began her teaching and administrative career in the Ellwood City Area School District as a Social Studies teacher and then as Assistant High School Principal.  She then joined the administrative team at Seneca Valley School District as the Principal of Haine Middle School, a 5th and 6th grade middle school.  With superintendent leadership experience in the districts of Blackhawk and Wilmington, Dr. Miller joined our District with a wealth of school leadership experiences. As your Superintendent, Dr. Miller wants parents to know that each child’s education is our priority.   We want to create a safe and engaging learning environment where all of our students want to be and want to learn.

With an unwavering passion for teaching, Dr. Miller has been an adjunct professor at Westminster College and continues to be a guest speaker in teacher and administrative preparation programs.  Dr. Miller serves as a Board Member for Lifesteps, Inc., Tri-State Study Council, and the Forum for Western PA Superintendents.  Upon returning to Beaver County as Hopewell’s superintendent, she has joined the Executive Boards for Beaver County United Way, Beaver County Cancer and Heart Association and Beaver County Educational Trust.  

Dr. Miller resides in South Beaver with her family and is proud to be part of the Hopewell Area School District serving the students, parents, and community. Dr. Miller shares that “through our staff and students’ Purpose, Passion and Pride, the future of Hopewell is unlimited!”
