Independence Elementary ~ Student Pickups

• We will begin calling students who are being picked up at 315pm. We hope that as this is communicated with parents and guardians, we can get the kids through quicker as our number of student pick-ups has now doubled. 

• Parents will follow the similar path they have all year, however the only difference will be that they will feed into the parking lot behind the volunteer fire department when it becomes too crowded. As cars pick up their children and leave, the cars positioned in the parking lot behind the volunteer fire department will inch forward towards the main entrance of the school. By staying in the parking lot, we will avoid blocking the road that runs parallel with Independence. 

• ALL of our buses will be positioned behind the school near the playground. This change will allow parents and guardians to utilize the parking lot behind the volunteer fire department before proceeding to pick up their child.

• Buses WILL NOT be called until all parent pickups are accomplished for the safety of all students. 

• Students who are being picked up will be called in the order they arrive to keep the flow of traffic moving as efficiently as possible.

• As mentioned, please utilize the parking lot behind the volunteer fire department as you see the cars line up in front of the school. Space is limited and we must avoid blocking the road that runs parallel with the school. Please be patient as we work out the kinks as our pickups will double. It is much appreciated!
