I would like to welcome you and your child to Independence Elementary School. This is an exciting time for you and your child. I am here to provide care to your child during the elementary years. To better serve your child please inform me of any health problem your child experiences and what interventions work best for your child. Together we can provide a positive healthy experience.
Background
I have worked in the Hopewell Area School District for the past 15 years as a certified school nurse. I graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a Bachlors of Science in Nursing , Carlow College with a Certification in School Nursing, and California University of Pennsylvania with a Masters in Education. Prior to working here at Hopewell I was a Registered Nurse on the Cardiac Stepdown Unit, The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, and an Education and Development Specialist for the Maternal, Child, and Women's Health Services at The Western Pennsylvania Hospital in Pittsburgh. I also worked as a Professional Clinical Nurse Instructor at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh.
