Welcome to 5th Grade General Music!!

5^thGrade General Music meets daily for 9 weeks. This class uses the textbook “Making Music.” Activities may include (but are not limited to) the following: singing, playing classroom instruments, note-reading activities, and rhythm activities. The students will also be exposed to music and instruments from different cultures around the world.

1. Come to class prepared
2. Participate daily
3. Treat all instruments/materials with care
4. Respect everyone
5. No talking out of turn
6. Keep your hands to yourself!

• Students will be awarded 2 points daily for fully participating in class activities and for following the classroom rules.
• Students will be expected to keep a notebook, which will be graded at the end of each unit.
• Students will take a written quiz at the conclusion of each unit.
