Hopewell Area SD: Remote Instruction on Thursday, May 1, 2025

Due to ongoing storm restoration efforts in the community and at district schools, the Hopewell Area School District will operate all schools under a Flexible Instruction Day (FID) model with students learning remotely from home on Thursday, May 1, 2025. There will be no district transportation provided, and after-school and evening activities will take place as scheduled.

The district truly understands that some students may have varying needs associated with power outages or Internet loss, so please communicate needs with teachers and principals. They will be willing to assist as needed. With an in-service day and prom happening on Friday (May 2), students will next return to school on Monday, May 5. So, the extra day in remote learning will yield multiple days of recovery efforts to, hopefully, return all students to regular in-person schooling on Monday, May 5.

Fall Physicals

Any student (7th through 12th grade) wishing to participate in a 2025 Fall sport for Hopewell Area School District must have a physical examination prior to the start of official practice which is Monday, August 11, 2025, except Golf must have their Physicals submitted by Monday, August 4, 2025. Instructions and the PIAA Physical Form are available under “ATHLETIC PHYSICALS” on the left side of this page. Sections 1-5 need to be filled out by a parent or guardian and Section 6 needs to be completed by the physician.

Hopewell will be offering fall sports physicals for all students grades 6-11 (7-12 in the coming school year) who are planning on playing a Fall 2025 sport. The physicals will take place on Tuesday, May 6 at 2:30 in the HS nurse's office. Jr. High students are to come to the High School Nurse's Office immediately following dismissal. Please bring with you on the day of the physical, a physical packet with Sections 1-5 filled out and signed by a parent or guardian and the student. The doctor will fill out Section 6.

The charge will be $20, cash or check made out to HASD. Payment is due at the time of sign ups. Sign ups will be in the Athletic Office and the Main Office at the Jr. High starting April 2.

ALL PHYSICALS MUST BE DATED AFTER MAY 1, 2025

PLEASE HAND IN THE PHYSICALS AT EITHER THE FRONT OFFICE OF THE JR. HIGH OR HIGH SCHOOL, OR THE ATHLETIC OFFICE.
