Graduation practices:
Practices will be held on Friday 5/23 & Tuesday 5/27 and are MANDATORY!! CTC students are expected to attend all practices, but will be excused from practice early on 5/23 to attend graduation at the CTC. All seniors are to use the doors by the flagpole and check in at the table in the auditorium lobby. You are not permitted to go to any other part of the building before or after practice. Practices start at 8, and will end when sponsors determine (usually by 11:00). If you are expecting to miss a practice, you must see Dr. Kartychak prior to that day. For all practices, you must be signed in by 8 am. If you are late, you will have to make up time.
Senior Walk
After practice on Tuesday 5/27. We will process through each of the elementary schools and the Jr. High.
It is optional, but highly recommended. Seniors wear caps and gowns, and transportation is provided. The Senior Walk will be immediately followed by the Senior Send-off.
Baccalaureate
Baccalaureate is a formal, religious ceremony to honor the graduating class. It is not mandatory. It will be held on Tuesday May 27 at 6:00pm, in the auditorium and is open to the public. Students participating should report to room 105 (chorus room) by 5:30 pm dressed in caps and gowns with proper attire underneath.
Proper Attire for Graduation and Baccalaureate
Graduates are to wear appropriate clothing. For males, this includes a collared shirt, nice slacks and closed toe, clean shoes. For females, this includes a dress, skirt, or dress pants and an appropriate shirt. High heels are not recommended, especially if graduation is held outside. All students must wear a Hopewell cap and gown. Caps can be decorated, but MUST BE SCHOOL APPROPRIATE.
Parking
Parking at the school for graduation is limited. Request forms for handicap parking permits are due back to the class sponsors by 5/23. Shuttles will be running from Margaret Ross Elementary and the Hopewell Shopping Center from approximately 5-9 pm. Family and friends attending that do not need handicap parking will be directed to use the shuttles.
Graduation Pictures
Photography by James will be taking pictures of each graduate receiving their diploma. A link will be posted on the high school website a few days after graduation for anyone interested in purchasing a photo. * A link to the senior slideshow shown at May Day will also be posted.
Tickets
If graduation is outside, anyone that wants to attend can; tickets are not necessary. If graduation is inside, each person attending (not including the graduate), needs to have a ticket to be guaranteed a seat. Each student will be given 4 tickets, but can request additional tickets if needed. They will be given as available. The link for the ticket request form for additional tickets will be posted in Schoology and must be completed by the end of practice on Friday, 5/23.
**The decision as to whether Commencement is held outside or inside will be made as soon as possible on Wednesday 5/28 based on the current and predicted weather and will be posted on the Hopewell Area School District website as soon as it is determined. The HASD calling system will also send the information as soon as it is available. Graduation begins at 6:30. Seniors are to report to their assigned room by 5:30. Please refrain from calling the school as the website will have the most current information.
