The Hopewell Area SD would like to highlight a few dates (May 14, May 18, and June 11) to the public where meetings are being held to assist in determining the future of Hopewell schools. My name is Karen Watts and I am the 3rd and 4th grade Special Education Teacher at Independence Elementary School.

I received my bachelor's degree in Education from Duquesne University and have dual certification in both Special and Elementary Education.

For 8 years prior to coming to Hopewell, I taught at Allegheny Valley School and McGuire Memorial.

I have been teaching at Independence Elementary for the past 20 years and after all this time I still I couldn't imagine a better place to be!
