9th Grade & New Student Orientation
NEW! To make the transition into high school as smooth as possible, we would like to invite all incoming 9th grade students and new students to attend an Open House/Building Tour on Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at 9:00 AM. 
Mr. Allison - Elected as NASSP President
Mr. Allison was recently elected as the President of the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP).  He will serve as the President-Elect starting July 1, 2014 and his official term will begin July 1, 2015.  
The English Festival
Three members of the Hopewell's Book Club competed at the Western Pennsylvania English Festival at Duquesne University on Thursday, May 29.  Junior Rachael Kriger and sophomores Bethany Schwartz and Shirley Witherow.

Hopewell Community honors our fallen heroes!

May's Students of the Month
We are pleased to announce that May's Students of the Month at Hopewell High School are freshmen Maria Skeriotis and senior Kari Steuer.   
Midwest Athletic Conference 2013-2014 Student Athlete Award
Congratulations to Brett Pomeani and Gabby Stala for receiving the Midwest Athletic Conference (MAC) 2013-2014 Student Athlete Award and representing Hopewell at the MAC banquet. 
Alexxis Langton Awarded WPGA Scholarship
The WPGA Scholarship is awarded to employees of golf clubs in western Pennsylvania.  This year, Alexxis is one of four recipients.  The full article on the WPGA page can be found here.   
"What a Difference a Friend Makes" Poster Contest
Krysta Snodgrass won Third Place in the Beaver County Children and Youth Services "What a Difference a Friend Makes" poster contest. 
BCTA Summer Youth Program
Youth ages 14-18 can ride BCTA this summer to any of their location, including Pittsburgh, for only $0.50 with a summer pass.  Read the full article for details on how to obtain the summer pass. 
Army Presentation
The U.S. Army visited Hopewell Area High School on April 17, 2014 and showcased different careers within the Army.  Students were given hands-on experience at the various stations.  Read the full article for more information and pictures. 
Iron Crafter
Two teams of four art students each competed on Saturday, April 5 in the 10th annual Pat Catan's "Iron Crafter".  Read the full article for team members and competition details. 
Scarab Club Toronto, Canada Trip
Twenty-one art and language students traveled to Toronto, Canada the weekend of March 28-30.  Read the full article for photos and additional details. 
April's Students of the Month
We are pleased to announce that April's students of the month in the high school are freshmen Richard Brunton and senior Lauren Shawgo.  
Bailey Marshall - "Let's Clear the Air"
Bailey Marshall took First Place in the Southwest PA Fourth Annual "Let's Clear the Air" Poster Challenge.  Her winning artwork will be on display at the Mall in Robinson by Starbucks through April 30. 
Kamran Mian - Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra
Congratulations to Kamran Mian who applied and was accepted to participate in the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra's EQT Side-by-Side program concert. Rehearsals occurred throughout April and the concert took place on April 22. 
Trial Lawyer Association Scholarship
Senior Lia Kopar has won a $1000 Western Pennsylvania Trial Lawyers Association Scholarship.  This is an annual essay competition and only three winners are selected from the counties comprising the western district of Pennsylvania.
