Blood Drive
On December 17 a blood drive took place at Hopewell as part of a student's Senior Project.  High school students and faculty had the opportunity to donate.  The Senior Project program has been a great opportunity for students to get involved in the community and provide thousands of hours of service. 
AED Training
Professional development is an important aspect of Hopewell Area School District.  The faculty and staff not only work within their respective content areas, but they also work on improving their understanding of various concepts to help ensure the safety and welfare of your children.

Hopewell Vikings Cheer
The HHS Viking Cheer squad finished 2nd in the AA category during the WPIAL Competitive Spirit Competition.  These athletes now qualify to compete at the PIAA Cheer Finals in Hershey, Jan. 23 & 24, 2015. The team is coached by Nikki Baker and Debbie Rains. To see the team in action click... 
VIP Club Visits Franciscan Manor
Hopewell's VIP Club volunteered at the Franciscan Manor on December 18, 2014 to bring some Christmas cheer to the residents.  Read the full article to learn more about what they did and see a photo of the club members who participated. 
Christmas Door Decorations
This year each homeroom was given the opportunity to participate in a door decorating competition as part of the holiday season.  After the doors were decorated, a few of the office staff judged the doors and announced a winner. Pictures can be found in the full article.

Hopewell HS Chorus Concert December 3

District 5 Honors Band
Congratulations to Kamran Mian and Sammie Yost for making the audition into District 5 Honors Band!  They will represent Hopewell in December at Westminster College. 
Class Ring Orders
Information was provided from Jostens to all sophomores about ordering Class Rings.  Students are not required to purchase a class ring nor do they need to use Jostens, but information is available for interested students. 
SENIORS - Cap and Gown Orders
Information was provided to all seniors about ordering the Cap and Gown for Graduation.  Seniors were instructed to bring the information home to share with parents.  All seniors must have a cap and gown to participate in commencement.  
Hopewell High School Lip Dub
VOTE 10 TIMES TODAY & EVERYDAY! Hopewell High School submitted an entry for the Trib Total Media High School Lip Dub Contest.  Students, faculty, and staff all worked together to put together this years entry.  Read more to watch the video and a time lapse of the process as well as VOTE! 
PA Governor's School for the Sciences
The PA Governor's School for the Sciences, is a 5-week summer residential program for talented high school students of science and mathematics, which emphasizes  cooperative learning and hands-on laboratory research.  
Boys' Cross Country
On Thursday, October 23rd, three members of the Hopewell Boys' Cross Country Team qualified for the State Championships.  Greg Nero, Clark Cicone, and Nick Tocci will represent the Vikings at Hershey on November 1st. 
Beaver County Chorus
Ian Skal, Gretchen Wilson, Alaina Stroud, Danny Watts, Gillian Carr, Megan Welsh, and Rachael Cicone participated in Beaver County Chorus on October 20th and 21st. 
Hopewell Marine JROTC at PA State Principal's Conference
Our Marine JROTC Soldiers presented the Colors to start and close the 2014 PA Association of Elementary and Secondary School Principals (PAESSP) Conference at the Station Square Sheraton.

National Merit Scholarship Commendation
Mark Michalko and Elizabeth Tarleton have been named Commended Students in the 2015 National Merit Scholarship Program.  About 34,000 Commended Students throughout the nation are being recognized for their exceptional academic promise.
