The Beaver County School Districts and the Career and Technology Center continue to work together as we receive guidance from our state and federal leaders. Today, Governor Wolf announced that all schools will remain closed for the remainder of the 2019-2020 academic year.  Therefore, all Beaver County school facilities are closed and events cancelled through the end of the school year.  While much uncertainty still exists, this announcement will allow families to plan for their needs in the coming months.  All schools will continue to provide continuity of education and meals through the last regularly scheduled day of school.  We understand that this is heartbreaking for the Class of 2020, but please be patient as we seek additional guidance from our state leaders regarding graduation and other special events.  We appreciate your patience and support during this closure and we will continue to provide updates as we move forward together.

The breakfast and lunch pickups are still on-going at the Junior High and Independence Elementary School between 11-1 each weekday.

Device Pickup Information:

If a Hopewell student is still in need of a device for continuity of instruction, please let your child’s teacher know.

March 16, 2020

The AP Program is developing resources to help schools support student learning during extended closures, as well as a solution that would allow students to test at home, depending on the situation in May. Additional information will be posted by March 20.

We will announce portfolio submission deadline extensions for AP 2-D Art and Design, 3-D Art and Design, Computer Science Principles, Drawing, Research, and Seminar courses by March 20. Schools do not need to call AP Services for Educators to request these extensions.

CCBC ANNOUNCES EXTENSION OF HONORS SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION WINDOW

With all of the instability that has been caused by the COVID-19 outbreak, I am able to share that . We wanted to ensure that you were equipped with the most accurate information available if students were enquiring with you about the scholarship application. While this deadline may extend as conditions merit, we do not want any of your students to feel that they did not have a chance to get their materials together and submitted for this scholarship opportunity.our CCBC Honors Scholarship deadline has been extended to April 10, 2020 (originally March 20)

We are also happy to accept any digitally-based versions of the required documents (Letters of Recommendation, Transcripts [whether official or unofficial], etc.) until the deadline, so as to provide applicants, schools and any other individuals involved flexibility during this unstable time. Any submissions that would come from a school (i.e. transcripts, faculty letters of recommendation, etc.) can be sent digitally to honors@ccbc.edu .

A detailed reminder of the scholarship requirements are in the press release that follows; please feel free to share with any constituents within your district/school that you see fit. If you or any students have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to me via honors@ccbc.edu .
